Patricio Lerzundi is the Chair of the Journalism, Communication, and Theatre Department (JCT) at Lehman College, CUNY. As a journalist he has worked as Features Editor of UPI, and Editor-in-Chief of a daily Spanish-language newspaper in New York. He is the author of the first style and reference manual for Latino journalists in the U.S. A. In 1994 he created the Multilingual Journalism Program, now part of the JCT Department. He has also served as Chair of the Department of Languages and Literatures of Lehman College and has authored three scholarly books on the subject of Colonial Golden Age Theatre.
He participated in the creation of the first on-line bilingual (Spanish/English) journalism program. This program, which started in Spring, 2005, is a collaborative project developed by Lehman College and the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón of Puerto Rico.
