Sigma Delta Chi

sigma delta chiThe Sigma Delta Chi Awards competition began in 1932 as the Distinguished Service Awards, which honored professional journalists for outstanding meritorious service in the field. Starting in 1939, the scope of the awards was expanded to include excellence in editorial content. Today the Sigma Delta Chi Awards are one of the most highly esteemed award competitions in the profession, largely because all of the entrants in the contest are judged by panels of their peers. To date, the Society of Professional Journalists has awarded more than 1000 medallions to the winners of these prestigious awards.
